FAQs

GENERAL PRODUCT QUESTIONS:

Do your products contain GMOs?

No, our products do not contain any GMOs. We exclusively use certified organic and non-GMO ingredients.

Do your products contain artificial ingredients?

No, our products do not contain any artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or other additives. Just natural, whole food ingredients - the way food should be!

Do your products contain sugar alcohols?

No, our products do not contain any sugar alcohols such as erythritol, maltitol, mannitol, sorbitol, xylitol, etc. While they are commonly used as an alternative sweetener, these substances can cause digestive issues and other problems so we choose not to use them.

Are your products organic?

Yes, we make all our products with certified organic ingredients. I am a big believer in consuming foods in their whole, organic form to reap the greatest nutritional benefits and minimize exposure to harmful chemicals. It is my eventual goal to complete the USDA organic certification process for all my products.

ALLERGEN QUESTIONS:

Do your products contain any of the major allergens: wheat/gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, fish, peanuts, tree nuts?

Our products contain tree nuts (almonds). Our products are NOT made with any gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, fish, or peanuts. However, they are made in a shared kitchen that is not certified free of these allergens so there is always possibility of trace amounts of cross contamination.

Do your products contain stevia?

Yes, our almond butter and bars contain minimal amounts of pure stevia extract with no additives. Allergies are very rare but people allergic to the daisy and ragweed family may be allergic to stevia.

ALMOND BUTTER QUESTIONS:

What does "sprouted" mean?

The sprouting process involves soaking raw almonds to “awaken” them from their dormant state and grow a sprout. This process brings out more of the natural sweetness in the almonds, reduces anti-nutrient substances that make them hard to digest, and enhances their nutrient content and bioavailability. After the almonds are sprouted and rinsed, they are dehydrated at a low temperature to keep them shelf stable while preserving their enzymes and nutrients.

Does your almond butter separate?

It is normal for natural nut butters to have oil separation. However, the separation in sprouted nut butter is very minimal compared to other raw or roasted nut butters. Simply give it a quick stir if you notice any!

How should I store your almond butter?

Our sprouted almond butter can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated. It will not harden when stored in the fridge.

What is the shelf life of your almond butter?

The shelf life is one year from the date of manufacturing. Once opened, it is best consumed within 6 months.

Are your almonds pasteurized?

Yes, our almonds are gently steam pasteurized for your safety. This process just heats the outer shell allowing the “meat” and nutrients to remain untouched, unlike the irradiation and chemical methods used to pasteurize most conventional almonds that can alter their nutrient content.

Is your almond butter raw?

Greater Goodness is made from raw, sprouted almonds that are kept at a low temperature throughout the creation process to preserve their raw enzymes and nutrients. Some people argue that pasteurized almonds are not truly raw, but the process of steam pasteurization does not heat the core of the almonds. They are still very much alive and raw, as evidenced by being able to grow a sprout!

BAR QUESTIONS:

How should I store your bars?

Our bars should be stored in the fridge or ideally the freezer for freshness. This doesn’t mean you can’t pack them as an on the go snack! It’s totally fine to keep them out at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Longer than that and they are still completely safe to eat, they just may not taste as fresh.

I like to keep mine in the freezer and take them out in the morning as I pack for my day. They completely thaw within 20 minutes. And if you don’t feel like waiting, they taste good frozen too ;)

What is the shelf life of your bars?

The shelf life is one year from the date of manufacturing. Bars will keep freshest flavor when stored in fridge or freezer.

Are your bars vegan?

No, our bars are not vegan as they contain collagen from grass-fed cows. They are vegetarian and dairy free.

Are your bars raw?

Our bars contain raw dates, raw pumpkin seeds, and raw almonds. The are not baked or processed in any other way that could alter the nutritional value.
